We are on a little get away to the Olympic Peninsula.
We moved to Port Angeles (PA) WA in 1979. My husband was the first ‘Personnel’ Director at Olympic Memorial Hospital. We didn’t last long in PA, but became hooked on the Pacific Northwest. We haven’t been back to PA often. So this was a treat!
We explored some of our old haunts. The hospital is much larger. Our old rental was decrepit when we lived there and still is. PA was a logging town and it hasn’t thrived the way its neighbor, Sequim, has. And with the pandemic, the tourists are scarce.
We are staying in a great place – the Juan de Fuca cottages. Our cottage has a view of the Strait and Hurricane Ridge. It is delightful and we wish we could stay longer.
We took a great hike to Dungeness Spit. The weather is perfect. See the photos @ travelswithallene on Instagram.
We will be enjoying a cocktail and savoring a great day!
We are off to the Hoh Rainforest tomorrow.
Sorry this is short, but the WiFi is pretty limited!
